Ben Clymer’s “The Body Shop”
Ben Clymer has gone from client to a true friend in the world of business acquaintances. Over twenty-five years ago, Rely-On Technologies (then known as Rely-On Spraybooth Co.) assisted Ben Clymer in relocating a used, paint spray booth from the first shop he purchased to a new, rented location. At that time, both Ben and Al Jr. (President, Rely-On Technologies) dismantled, moved, and reinstalled a used, cross flow spray booth themselves.
From there, Ben purchased land and built his first flagship facility in Riverside, California. At that time, Ben called Rely-On to provide new equipment, but it was to be Garmat high-tech automotive spray booths and prep stations. Since then, Ben continued to expand his empire by adding facilities in Moreno Valley, Yucaipa, Palm Desert, and Pomona. All the while contracting with Rely-On to provide both Garmat and generic equipment.
With this challenge completed and needing a new diversion, Ben Clymer recently decided to turn over management of his collision shop business to his family members, In typical “Ben style,” he charged into a new venture—Tiffany Coachworks, manufacturers of car limousines and limousine buses. Once again, Ben reached out to Rely-On to provide a fully integrated heated truck spray booth, and additional dust collection equipment for the whole facility.
Ben and Al have had a great run over the past twenty-five years, but neither of them wants to do the physical work anymore (but would if need be). The best part of the story—Ben and Al ended up as business friends; relationships only fostered because of confidence in each other and trust. Our hats off to Ben Clymer for believing in Rely-On, “A name you can Rely-On, at a price you can afford.”
